I first introduced you to this little girl way back in October. Since then she sat, partially completed, on my drawing table. Not for lack of wanting to work on her...but because I was stumped as to how to acchieve the effect I wanted. And I couldn't decide whether to do her in 'straight' pen and ink or to add delicate hints of watercolour to her. Finally...I worked out an arrangement with myself.
Complete her in pen and ink...and then have a copy printed onto watercolour stock paper and add the hints of colour to that. So.... here is Ondine....making her debut:I'm absolutely in love with her...and excited to do the watercolour version very soon.
I love her cute little face and tentacles!
ReplyDeleteOy my goodness...she is precious! All that detail is amazing Kelly...I love her tentacles! : )
ReplyDeleteshe is amazing the detail is lovely carnt wait to see the watercolour well done youx
ReplyDeleteWelcome Ondine! I love her! What a great idea to print her up and add color! I can't wait to see it~
ReplyDeleteWow! I love all the detail. I have never tried working with pen. I think my lines would be way to messy, but I love the detail you can get! I love her. I love the way black and whites look framed like that, but I can see how you could not resist having a colored version. She would just be too fun to color in!Jennifer
ReplyDeleteshe turned out so sweet! I love all the pattern and detail~
ReplyDeleteOh, she is so sweet! I admire you working with pen - not something I have tried before... Looking forward to seeing the colored version as well. Although I also like her in black and white! Love, Silke
ReplyDeleteShe's beautiful, what lovely watery, dreamy eyes she has! Thanks for your lovely comment on my blog, I lool forward to seeing your other version of her too! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Kelly! Ondine is magical! Her tentacles are so sweet! I have many unfinished projects that start out this way too. I just walk by the unfinished sketch or painting everyday and wait to get inspired again.
